A Love for Eternity
What we’ve learned from the final portion in the series of Twilight, Breaking Dawn is that Edward and Bella will remain together for eternity above all else. They were married like they both always wanted in a beautiful ceremony that Alice got to set up herself.
After they are married they were able to consummate their marriage like Bella always wanted, before being changed into a vampire. This honeymoon is when they first learned about Bella being pregnant. Bella’s pregnancy while rare, progresses at such a fast rate, it’s unreal. The baby grows so fast that she becomes too strong and begins breaking her ribs from the inside. When Bella unexpectedly goes into labor with the baby, Edward has to make the decision to turn her before she dies.
He does so to keep Bella’s wishes, and after her transformation is finally complete she surprises everyone around her with the amount of self control and maturity that she has as a newborn vampire. This was proven even further more when Bella is taken out by Edward to hunt, and they cross a human scent. Bella refrains from the human and turns the other way. This is something in the vampire world that is very rare and unusual.
During this time their love was tested even more by having to watch each other stand up to the Volturi, after they believe their daughter Renesemee is an immortal child, which is highly forbidden in the vampire world. Above all else they stand together and confront the enemy for the sake of their family and their child. This is a love that will last for eternity and a bond that no one, or nothing can break. While their love was put to the test, they gain a better relationship with Jacob, as he becomes their daughter’s protector.
Their love during this part of their story is best described as

True Love Concurs All
When you think of true love, you think of a love that will endure anything, that is put to the test frequently and always comes out on top. This is the kind of love that Bella and Edward have that cannot be broken.
There have been many tests throughout their history as a couple, the test of Bella finding out Edward was in fact a vampire, which she passed with flying colors. Next was the test of the friend turned obsessed lover, Jacob, trying to gain the attention of Bella. While Bella loved Jacob back, she realized early on it wasn’t the type of love that she had for Edward.
True love like the love that Bella has for Edward is a love that deep down you cannot shake, you cannot get the other person out of your mind, and it hurts to think about them not with you anymore. This is the love that Bella felt for Edward, this is the love that made Bella decide she was continuing on with her relationship with Edward, when forced to choose between her best friend and her true love.
In the end, no matter what choices have to be made, true love always comes out the victor in those relationships. If Edward and Bella’s relationship showed anything at all it was that above all else, true love will always come out on top. Nothing is stronger than the love and and power of true love. Bella and Edward while they will probably continue to get tested and tested again and again, they will always come out on top, and will always be there for one another. This is the power that true love holds over all else.

If you learn anything at all from the story of Edward and Bella is that while it seems impossible to love someone so much that your whole body hurts, it is entirely reachable when you find the one person you were meant to fall in love with.
Through Jacob’s Absence Bella and Edward’s Love Grows
Jacob runs away after hearing about the engagement news of Bella and Edward. Bella is broken hearted that her best friend has ran away and she cannot reach him. But she reaches out sending him a letter, anything to get into contact with him. When she receives a letter in return her mood goes to that of hopeful, however Jacob, while he admits he misses her lets her know that doesn’t change anything at all.
Bella becomes depressed with the news of Jacob not returning, and not approving of her engagement to Edward. Edward has been banned by Charlie by going into their house, other than limited amounts of time. However he ignores these orders and sneaks into Bella’s room ever night, improving her mood drastically.
When Bella hears of the news of Jacob’s return she goes to visit her. He again admits that he is in love with her and forcefully kisses her saying she loves him too, and she must choose. Bella is furious with Jacob for this behavior that she almost ends their friendship.
Before Bella’s graduation she is made aware that there is an army of newborn vampires under the control of Victoria heading their way. The Cullens join forces with the werewolves to keep Forks safe. Before Jacob goes into the battle he tells Bella he is going into Battle knowing he may die and that she does not love him back. Bella asks Jacob to give her a kiss to get him to believe that she does in fact love him too. However this kiss only proves to Bella that she does truly love Jacob as well. But she knows it’s not the same as the love she has for Edward.
The hardest thing Bella has ever had to do occurs when she has to tell Jacob she has chosen to stay with Edward. Even though Bella has chosen to stay with Edward, her love for Jacob does not subside. She loves him more as a friend than anything else, and throughout it all, Jacobs absence, his return, his confession of love for her, the kiss and the realization that she loves him too, she has confirmed that her love for Edward has only continued to grow stronger. This is because they were always meant to be.
Jacob’s Obsession
When Bella turns 18 years old she becomes a bit depressed because physically she is much older in body than Edward who is only 17. To celebrate Edward insists on having a birthday party at his parent’s house for Bella. Unfortunately things take a bitter turn when she gets a tiny paper cut when opening presents and Jasper tries to attack her.
After this happens, Edward breaks Bella’s heart by telling her he is leaving Forks and he no longer loves her. This is far from the truth, but he feels it’s the best thing that he can do for her at this moment. Bella falls into a deep depression for months over the loss of Edward. The only thing that pulls her out is Jacob Black. Jacob wants to be much more than friends with Bella, but she doesn’t necessarily feel the same way about him. He however lets her in on a little family secret, revealing he is a werewolf.
Bella soon discovers that when she is in immediate danger she can hear and see Edward telling her to stop and turn around. Bella decides to go cliff diving and almost nearly drowns. If it wasn’t for Jacob she would have been dead. Alice see’s this vision and believes she is dead. Edward feels he has nothing to live for anymore since his love has died and wants the Volturi to kill him.
Alice and Bella travel to Italy to prevent this, but before they can leave Jacob pledges his love for Bella, asking her to choose between him and Edward. Jacob has become so deeply in love with Bella, he wants nothing more than to have her for himself. He vows to protect her for the rest of her life, but Bella refuses Jacobs offers and leaves to save Edward.
After the two come back from saving Edward, he tells Bella he will turn her into a vampire himself if she promises to marry him. Jacob is outraged by the engagement and flees from Forks. He has become so obsessed with the idea of Bella and him and cannot wrap his mind around the thought of Bella and Edward. He refuses to see the love that the two share, and only wants her for himself.
The Meeting of Lovers
When Bella and Edward met each other for the first time, Edward came to the realization that he is unable to read Bella’s thoughts which he finds both intriguing and frustrating at the same time. After getting close to Bella, Edward finds it even more difficult to be around her for too long, because her blood is the most appealing he’s ever encountered. After a brief absence to get away from the temptation, he saves Bella’s life from being hit by a van. Here is where Bella sees first hand his super strength and speed.
Edward become infatuated with Bella to the point he is unable to rid her from his mind, causing him to sneak into her room at night, just to watch her sleep. Here is when Edward realizes he in fact has fallen in love with Bella. After Edward saves his love’s life once more in Port Angeles, Bella reveals to him that she knows he is a vampire and it doesn’t matter to her because she loves him.
The two take a hike into the meadow, where Edward considers to be the most beautiful location in Forks. This is when he exposes himself and opens up to becoming more vulnerable to Bella by showing what the sunlight does to his body.
The two begin their relationship and Edward invites Bella to meet his family. After an encounter with a visiting coven of vampires consisting of James, Victoria, and Laurent, James lures Bella into a ballet studio alone. This is where the Cullens emerge as a family unit, coming to the rescue of Bella, and where Edward learns of Alice’s vision of Bella becoming a vampire.
While Bella wants nothing more than to become a vampire like her love, Edward is determined to keep her human for as long as possible. The two lovers have different opinions and thoughts on what should happen, but this doesn’t stop them from becoming more in love with one another. Bella feels fate has placed her with Edward, because it was always meant to be. The love story of the two is unique, full of twists and turns, but in the end, one thing remains constant and that is their love for one another.
